To the partner I have not met…
Here is a little throwback photo of me as a hard-charging patrol cop. As a crayon-eating jar-head, I was not able to memorize all of our radio codes or criminal codes, case laws, etc. So, I started organizing cheat-sheets from the agency….then the state…then the country. In the process, I met more LEO experts and trainers across the US, and made a lot of friends in the process. That sparked the TacBook which has been an ever-progressing tool to help our brothers and sisters in blue to take point out there…professionally and personally.

Most people don’t read company emails. I delete most of them unless I see a discount code. Otherwise, I try to find that Unsubscribe button. I recommend the same for anyone — declutter that inbox. If there is something that distracts you from your goals, then leave it out.
I do open a select few emails, though, for more than discounts and products. Some people (who yes, represent companies) share valuable information and real insight.
That is what my team and I strive to be for you: A value.
This is not an AI-generated message. I am a real dude. I am an active law enforcement officer and trainer, who happens to also run TacBook USA.
The goal for the messages I send out periodically is to be one of the few that you don’t delete because you know I am actually writing them to you with intention as a member of the law enforcement and public safety community.
People who do not work in our field will never quite understand what we do — and that’s ok.
But I think the field is unique in a some key ways: we need to perform with excellence in our personal and professional lives in service to others.
Most of us never really get to know the public we serve…but we are there for them. More importantly, we are there for each other; The squads we lead, our peers, …our partners.
We all know the mantra: “get home safe”. It sounds simple. But, if you really think about it, that entails a comprehensive plan for success. It starts before the shift, entails countless smart decisions based on solid principles, and we must continually progress on and off duty.
Any lapses in focus, discipline or judgement are not only extreme risks to our longevity personally, they are an unacceptable risk to the community and, our partners.

For those who have been with us, thank you. As we head into this new year, I just wanted to let you know once again, that if you see an email from us… it’s from me, Marcus. And my goal is to share with you what I truly and genuinely believe is valuable to you, the partner I have not met.
This will include important legal information, tactics and techniques, quick-guides and cheat-sheets, and yes… discounts to our famous Patrol Guides, the TacBook Mobile App, and the Team TacBook treasure trove.
Thank you for what you do out there. You may share a call or two with friends and family on occasion. But after years of pushing a black and white myself, I personally know that you are involved in more crazy, tragic, hilarious and heroic stuff than anyone will ever know.
